The Alpha Systems Angle of Attack indicator uses highly identifiable reference points to indicate AOA so it may be used by all aircraft types. Once the system is calibrated it can be used to identify angles of attack related to aircraft performance, such as approach, best angle/rate of climb, best glide and all others. This information is accurate regardless of any aircraft weight, airspeed, or density altitude.
With the means to accurately know and control the angle of attack, pilots can fly a more stable approach and land with less kinetic energy for any given situation than flying arbitrary approach speeds.
